Example of Duties:
  • This position is responsible for various duties based on clients’ individual needs.
  • Duties include but are not limited to transporting clients to and from medical appointments and other agencies to assure they receive services needed (This position transports children of all ages and is responsible for ensuring their safety while transporting), monitoring visits, observing interactions, resolving conflicts, accompanying children to mental health and medical appointments, completing home visits, and documenting the duties daily for the case record and financial reimbursement.
  • This position is required to lift and carry smaller children as well as car seats if/when necessary.
  • This position will also provide transportation for children in DSS custody to visit with families, medical providers, and other facilities as needed in the provision of services.
  • This position will provide supervision to clients at all times.
  • This position is responsible for reports of the observation of visits, interaction with parents and/or caretakers, and reports for Medicaid reimbursement when required (These reports will be reviewed by the supervisor).
  • This position communicates with the assigned Social Worker to familiarize themselves with necessary information that’s needed when transporting, monitoring/observing visits, or speaking with medical or mental health professionals (This position will not be assigned any cases and will not be responsible for ongoing monthly Foster Care Case Management duties).
  • This position reports to a Social Work Supervisor.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
  • Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
